DySoC Welcomes Senjuti Dutta as Postdoctoral Fellow
Senjuti Dutta will join the University of Tennessee on August 1, 2026, as DySoC’s first postdoctoral researcher.
Dutta received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee in 2024, where her research focused on human-computer interaction, crowdwork, and the application of machine learning and large language models to user-centered problems. Since completing her doctorate, she has held research positions at xAI and the University of Colorado Boulder, and previously completed a research internship at Google Research.
Dutta’s work bridges human-computer interaction, applied artificial intelligence, and computational social science. She has explored topics including trust in AI systems, human-AI alignment, content moderation, and how LLMs influence human decision-making and behavior.
At DySoC, Dutta plans to study cognitive security in AI-mediated environments: how interactions with AI systems shape trust, reliance, belief formation, and collective behavior. Combining large-scale computational analysis with experimental and human-centered design methods, she investigates how AI systems can be designed to support human agency, calibrated trust, and resilience to manipulation.
“Senjuti brings a rare combination of expertise in human-computer interaction, AI, and behavioral research,” said DySoC Director Alex Bentley. “These themes are central to DySoC’s mission. We are delighted to welcome her to DySoC.”
Dutta’s appointment marks an important milestone in DySoC’s growth. “I am excited to join DySoC and contribute to research on human-AI interaction, trust, and cognitive security,” said Dutta.
